WHAT SERVICES DOES BHA OFFER YOU?
As a resident of one of BHA’s three high-rise buildings for seniors and adults with disabilities, you and your family are eligible for FREE services. The BHA Wellness Program offers housing and health-related support to residents to ensure successful aging in place.
The BHA employs a Resident Services Coordinator, two Wellness Coordinators, an Activity Coordinator and fitness consultants. Our staff is available to provide a wide-range of services to residents. We will assist with housing and referrals for healthcare needs.
WHAT DOES A RESIDENT SERVICES COORDINATOR DO?
· Connects residents with appropriate services to suit their needs.
· Assists with benefit paperwork and referrals to other entitlement programs.
· Creates, develops and implements collaborations with on-site staff, state and community agencies.
· Acts as liaison between residents, managers and BHA administrative staff.
· Coordinates activities with tenant organizations.
· Provides crisis intervention when necessary.
· Oversees the BHA Wellness Program.
WHAT IS THE WELLNESS PROGRAM?
We employ two Wellness Coordinators who provide health resources for residents. These Wellness Coordinators also provide:
· Blood pressure screenings and support;
· Foot Care Clinics (subject to availability and fees);
· Screening, education and ongoing support for nutritional needs;
· Smoking Cessation support;
· Collaboration with physician, case management agencies, and other support people;
· Transportations coordination;
· Assistance and support with individual health-related needs.
*All services are confidential. Medical and other personal information is kept separate from BHA tenant files. All services (unless otherwise stated) are FREE to residents.
The BHA also employs an Activity Coordinator who plans and implements recreational, therapeutic and educational events for our residents. The Activity Coordinator coordinates trips, seasonal events, occasional meals and obtains reduced tickets to community events (subject to availability).
Fitness Consultants provide bi-weekly fitness and relaxation classes (i.e. yoga, Tai Chi) for residents. These classes are fully adaptable to suit a wide rage of abilities and challenges.
